Lauren Ferreira Cardoso is a PhD student in Social Welfare, with a research focus on violence against women. She plans to graduate in 2018. She has worked and continues to work on a number of research projects individually, on a team, and as a supervisor of undergrad and master’s students. The main focus of these studies include the interaction of technology and violence against women and the safety of women and girls in public spaces. What she has enjoyed most about working at the Ortner Center is the opportunity to collaborate with smart, passionate women on all levels of the academic spectrum—from undergraduate to tenured professor. Next year, she will continue to work toward completing her PhD.
