Emily is a first-year MSW/MPH student. After graduating from Bard College in 2015,Emily worked for two yearsas a Community and HealthEducator in Poughkeepsie, NY, during which time she developed a commitment to end domestic violence. As part of her work, she developed a curriculum to educate health care providers on how to screen for intimate partner violence,spearheaded the annualLove Shouldn’t Hurt conferencefor high school students, and co-founded the UnitedPeer Council, a youth leadership program fosteringpeer-to-peer education on bullying and teen dating violence. Emily’s research interests areaffordable housing and domestic violence. She currently is a Behavioral Health and Hotline/Intake intern at Women Against Abuse where she works withthe Domestic Violence Specialist at the PhiladelphiaOffice of Homeless Services.
