Aminat Balogun studied Health and Societies with a minor in Bioethics and is particularly interested in maternal and child health. She is dedicated to the protection of women’s reproductive rights and children’s right to a healthy upbringing. Aminat is an active member of the University chapters of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and the collegiate service organization Circle K International. She served is a Robert A. Fox Leadership Summer Fellow with the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Division of Food and Nutrition. Since becoming involved with the Ortner Center, Aminat has participated in several projects including a campaign to expand visibility of Center research and a working group on Female Genital Mutilation and Cutting. After graduating from Penn in May 2019, Aminat is pursuing an MPH degree at George Washington University.
